You are on your way to better health by moving each day, but there’s always room for improvement. We want to help you get to the next level.
Studies have shown us that moving for at least 30 minutes per day of moderate intensity movement can have multiple health benefits, including improving how our immune system responds to “invaders”.
Moderate intensity means that while you are moving, you will be slightly out of breath during the activity. This intensity will help your blood circulation, in turn helping your immune system.
So how do we go from 15 minutes a day, to 30 minutes per day AND challenge ourselves with increasing the intensity of how we are moving?
Here’s one way to tackle it, we know you are up to the challenge. 😊 Take 5 minutes to create a SMART goal for yourself around moving more, gradually increase the frequency as you go! SMART goals are:
“specific” - "I want to do ___type of movement in ___ place ___ on ___day/times”
“measurable”- How are you going to decide if you’ll reach that goal?
“attainable”- Can you currently tackle the challenge, or do you need new skills?
“relevant”- Does this matter to you, and why does it matter?
“timely”- When do you want to reach this goal by?
